I am starting my day by watching this talk.
Here is a written summary:
After watching and reading the above speech, I am considering making my bed into a habit too. I never understood the purpose of making a bed – it seemed like a waste of time – but maybe starting the day with an immediate win gets the momentum rolling.
I started today with morning prayers. A new mind technique habit for me. I have a few prayers saved and read thru them. I have prayers from multiple spiritual traditions. I like Psalm 23 the best thus far.
Caffeine has been glugged.
Light cardio to get the engines started. Then a bodyweight circuit is on deck.
I am using anger and frustration to motivate me today. I had to evoke those feelings last nite, and this morning I was chomping at the bits to get started.
Today is day 59 straight of at least moving my body 20 minutes a day. Most days I have done multiple 20 minute sessions of various body movements. Walking. Running. Stretches. Yoga. Bodyweight circuit. Stairs with workout mask. Cardio follow along video on youtube. Those are my go to movements. Sometimes qigong. Don’t break the streak is a big motivator.
Okay, let us win and win more today.
I am re-reading and re-absorbing this spiritual quote that is a favorite of Reverend Ike’s:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
